3/21/11 26.5 mile run. Trenton, Nj to Fishtown, Philadelphia
My alarm went off at 5am the first thing that entered my mind was that I am running further then I have ever ran today. As I left for work I was confronted with cold rain. I remember thinking, please don't let it rain during our run. My work ended up not being so bad. but all I could think of was the run. I repeatedly felt not up to the challenge of running more then a marathon. Work ended around 5pm the rain stopes and it was time to see what I was made of. Me and steve were on our way. The run started of great. I remember passing a burger king and contemplating buying a double cheeseburger. We ran through the ghetto where some kid called me irobot and another yelled run forest. If I had a quarter for every time I herd that. Me and steve had a great pace the whole time and really pushed each other. I felt like we were running as a team. Then it happened, I was having sharp stabbing pains in my left knee. This defiantly slowed us down. I couldn't get over the wall I was feeling. Then out of know where I had a burst of energy and kept a fast pace for around 3miles. After stoping my legs were starting to seized up. I ended up walking most of the rest of the way. While walking through fish-town. I couldn't walk anymore, my legs shut down. As painful as it was I felt proud that I gave this run everything I had and some. I felt like a long distance runner for the first time. The run ended around 10:00pm. We set our furthest distance to date of 26.5 miles in 4hrs 37min.
